Hence my short online review. Frankly it blew my freaking head off. Though I agree along with Luis it had it's moments that really had to dampen the movie just when you thought all was smooth sailing. The end left something to be desired for me as well. Can't really put my finger on it though.

It could have been the fact you had Two-Face quickly pass through the end like a tourist plus the commissioner's little narrative that went over my head while Batman played chasies with the police dogs. Or maybe I'm just stupid.

I dunno if I can compare to Empire Strikes Back though. Even if it did have as much an impact. The movie's are just too different.

It's probably correct as well, Heath may not have been able to out-do himself with this movie. Nevertheless I would have loved to see what else he would have been capable of in any future endeavours. This honestly should've been just the BEGINNING of his career, not the end. Though I could see he was becoming quite developed as an actor even in Brokeback Mountain. Either way, he certainly went out with a bang and hopefully will leave a mark on movie history, with which I think would be a well-deserved posthumous award.

But yes, I still stand by my in-a-nutshell final thought of Dark Night:

Holy Shit

Nah...that's pretty much what I thought...

Oh, they're obviously very different. What I was comparing was the overall tone, the fact that they're both sequels...and the dark, brooding, open ended, ambiguous finale. Hell, you could even go as far as to compare it to The Godfather II, going by that criteria...
