This Friday!
*can't wait*
Boston band Throwing Muses formed in 1983 by step-sisters Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly and pioneered a thrillingly raucous form of 'alt rock' years before the term existed. Their extraordinarily textured, tempo-shifting music, combined with Kirstin’s intuitive, dextrous singing, joins the dots between elliptical post-punk, harmonious folk jangle pop and rockabilly thunder.
Having toured and collaborated with The Pixies and REM’s Michael Stipe in their time, the Muses bring to the Bar a sweltering show of arresting melodic structures and articulate songcraft.
Joining them on the night is Australian quintet Dappled Cities who blend the playful grandiosity with the chillier sonic explorations, culminating in an exuberant indie-pop sound that is unique and indelibly catchy.
Also coming to play at the party are Sydney radio and dancefloor selectors Robbie Buck and Jack Shit.
