I agree that it should titled as a solo album instead of all that Hoo Hah about getting the Guns 'N' Roses name.

I dunno. Should the illusions albums not be Gn'R releases because of original line up changes?
How many bands should be changing their band names each release then?

...and the 'hoo ha' occurred at the time when registereed trade marks became a thing for bands to do in the mid 90's, as a business man Axl wanted to do it and the others didn't.
eventually Axl didn't just steal the name - the others (Slash, Izzy and Duff - Izzy keeping a claim on the name after gnr unlike steve) gave up (sold) their rights to the name to him when he was pushing for it. all's fair.

I'm stoked Axl is releasing this stuff as Guns n' Roses and glad that he has encouraged good playerss to be a part of it.

Yeah, Perry Farrell did the same thing with Jane's Addiction. Don't know about it being fair though...more like taking advantage of drug fucked idiots...
