The guys who did the suitable few video started at 9am on Saturday and finsihed at 6pm Saturday - the entire video cost us $2k, but this was more so the hire of cameras/lights from the filmmakers behalf... the end result was somethign we were definitelly happy with (for the price we paid)...
We used making the video to our advantage - by spamming myspace "want to be in a video" - got over 100 people at the shoot as extra for FREE (including some people from canberra and one kid from QLD)...and later because we used myspace to get people in the video, they made it a feature video and that gained some huge response too..
The video also got played on RAGE for 7 weeks straight - which did have an increase in friend requests/comments on our myspace and once got played on MTV. Never got exposure from V though.
If you have the right song, and the singe takes off on radio - its always good to have the video ready to go to tv if there is demand for it...
These days with myspace you have a lot of people who will watch your video too..
Another example is Sydonia, there Sorry video got played on V and RAGE.
Im not entirely against the idea of a music video, but i wouldnt be pushing the idea all the time.
have you ever played the internet?
