Bashing leaves man critical
A late-night bashing in Sydney's inner-west has left a man in critical condition in hospital.
The 34-year-old was walking along King Street in Newtown just after midnight when he became involved in an argument with a young male, police said.
The man was assaulted and fell to the ground, hitting his head on to the roadway.
Several passers-by came to the man's assistance and helped him back to the footpath.
He suffered severe head injuries and was taken to Royal Prince Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
