Shanghai also covers a cover they did on that album by Johnny Mandel, called "I Want to Live"...

8)

Have you heard much Naked City? Their album called Radio for instance?

Great stuff. Fucking awesome band...especially for their time...

Radio is great.

Probably my fave album after the Debut. It's pretty similar, which you won't find with the other albums.

The Grand Guignol

Image

Is very orchestral in nature. It even has some classical type covers on it. It also has a bunch of the hardcore miniatures that make an appearance on the debut also.

Torture Garden is fantastic. Pretty much just a collection of the hardcore miniatures from the debut and Grand Guignol on one CD.

Leng Tch'e is a single 30-minute track. Long sludgy distorted wall of sound type shit. VERY Melvins. It's pretty much a ripoff of Melvins Lysol, another great album.

You can't get either of those on CD seperately any more, due to the artwork. They are available together as a collection though, as "The Black Box"...

Heretic

Is supposedly the soundtrack for an SM film. The band splits up into various trios and duos, and improvises. Not everyones cup of tea, but I find it interesting.

Next came Radio...then...

Absinthe

Image

Their final album, is ambient pieces. No songs to speak of. Long pointless drones. Pretty boring actually.

Either a really dull ending to a great band, or quite a fitting one, depending on how you look at it...
