MY PHOTO IN AN ADVERTISEMENT!!!

Postby Chantel » Tue Dec 05, 2006 5:43 pm

That's right!!

My photo of Adalita from Magic Dirt taken at the Annandale in October is the feature picture in the Faster Louder advertisement for their Christmas Party!!!

It is in the Brag full page, on page 35.

(of course they photoshopped it to make look all indie and arty....BUT I STILL FUCKING RECOGNISED IT!!!)

No. The copyright belongs to Me AND Faster Louder.

It's totally sweet.

Did you get paid to shoot the show? I think it's a bit crappy that Faster Louder have a copyright on images that photographers shoot for them, yet often do not pay the photographer for the photos...

still, at least they don't claim complete copyright to the images. fuck that.

The copyright on Faster Louder when you submit your photos is editable so you can claim complete copyright.

Faster Louder don't need to pay anyone because there are so many contributors just starting out that just want to get their work out there and published and WILL do it for nothing (you know...like me!).

I have written to the editor to ask why I was not informed about the use of my photo without letting me know.

I'll keep you posted.

cheers.

I think it's funny they used it, considering Magic Dirt aren't even playing the Christmas show...

and me :)

oh ok, i didn't know that (about the copyright part). still, i guess if you get to see a band you really like for nothing and maybe get to see some of your work in print it is pretty sweet compensation for your time.

i replied to one or two of their gig photo op emails (was hell keen on shooting Black Dahlia Murder), but i always reply too late :P
