Personality Clash will get you the Sack!

Knives Out

It's also an important point that:

*Interviews for a job usually last around 20 minutes (if that! - sometimes longer)
*People are on their best/nicest/most pleasant behaviour during the interview or first week

Craig, how can you say if you had a personality clash with someone and not hire them because of it based on a short interview process?

You've hired people?

Yes

Who and where?

I've hired at least 7 or 8 people at my current job and my last (Marsh and AON).

Do you want names?

You've never had a personality clash with a fellow worker?

Of course I have. But it's never stopped me from doing my job. My personality has clashed with a lot of people in my industry, but I didn't fire them all over it, even when I did have the power to.

Sometimes personality clashes develop over time.

I'll have to take your word on that one, as it has never happend to me. Maybe you're not as good at judging peoples characters as you think.

I can't argue the point of me not knowing what it's like to run my own business. But you are distinctly talking about managing people ITT, and I have plenty of expierince in that.

Exactly.

Not to mention, I've never had a personality clash with someone in my business where it did not end up affecting their quality of work.

I interview for longer than that, and I generally have 3 interviews before hiring someone.

People are on their best/nicest/most pleasant behaviour during the interview or first week

Come on, it's VERY easy to see through that.

Craig, how can you say if you had a personality clash with someone and not hire them because of it based on a short interview process?

I am having trouble understanding what you mean.

No, FUCK you.

The world is bigger then your business Luis.

You want to dismiss my argument based on age, your choice.

It's very clear you don't want a decent discussion.

I'll take my views elsewhere, you arrogant little man.

Of course you can't argue it.
I am not talking about managing people, I'm refering to manging a small business, which you know nothing about...

That's right, I will dismiss your argument not on age, but ignorance AND inexperience, which is obviously related to your age.
You're as bad as those Uni students who've never worked a day in their life telling people what's what.
I'll listen alright, but I'll laugh in your face afterwards...

Yes, the world is bigger than my business, but it is my world, and that's what this thread directly relates to.
