I chose the Annandale for the following reasons...

-always reasonable ticket prices
-close to home
-good sized room
-reasonably priced drinks
-good stage visibility
-Wok 'n' Roll is yumtastic!
-You don't always have to be right near the bands (advantage and disadvantage for artists and punters)

I like different venues for different reasons. It really depends on the band, the crowd and how I'm feeling on the night.

The Marquee...

As the venue is set out as one large room, it somewhat defeats the never-ending saga of playing to no-one. If there's people at the venue they are in THAT room.

Second to maybe The Metro, their lights are kick ass (with the right guy behind the desk). The stage manager and in house lighting tech during the time we played there for the WBOB (i forget his name) has a knack for anticipating musical changes and lights accordingly.

Lemar is a great sound guy. Really knows the ins and outs of sonic's. He's proficient, understanding, nice, and very very good. In all the times i've been there, even bad bands have sounded awesome.

With it's own little carpark and adjacent alleyways, parking is never a problem at the Marquee. Even directions are a sinch.

Designated Merch area is always handy...

The Dale for all the reasons stated as well as best on stage sound (was suprised to find this year it is better than Metro big room). Wok n Roll kicks serious ass....

But for convienience Excelsior - smaller bands do well there as they are not swallowed up by an empty Annandale floor..

voted for dale anyways....

Then read the post...I was adding it as a bit of an extra perhaps I should have clarified but thought peeps might get the meaning you know great for punters as well as performers.
