Last night in New York, departing heroes Nine Inch Nails treated fans to a performance of 1994 opus The Downward Spiral in its entirety. The band is currently on its ‘Wave Goodbye’ tour of America, playing intimate venues across the country.

After kicking off their New York run in front of a 500-strong crowd at the Bowery Ballroom, Trent Reznor and co. saved their surprise set-list for an encore night at Webster Hall. It was the only time NIN has given the album a full live-run through. “I always wanted to play that whole record,” Reznor told the awed fans. “That’s the only time we’re going to do it.”
