Paradoxical Undressing - KH

I really hope this comes to Sydney...

Paradoxical Undressing by Kristin Hersh is a live spoken word project incorporating film, music and essays.

The show features excerpts from Kristin's upcoming memoir, Paradoxical Undressing, read by the artist, with musical accompaniment.

The show tells the story of a teenage girl wrestling with issues of extreme creativity, mental illness, pregnancy and life in the music business as founder of seminal American indie rock band Throwing Muses.

Well it DID come to Sydney and I saw the show last night.

I laughed, I cried, I reflected.

Kristin certainly has a way with words.

Going again on Sunday.

It really was so much more than what I was expecting.

Even though I had read some of the passages from the mailouts, to have them read by Kristin certainly added weight to the stories. Even she said that during the show she had a tough time not bursting into tears.
