I'm glad I made it though...

ditto.

The songwriting is cheesy and bland. Some of their songs border on cock rock.
I also can't get over the drummer being such an over bearing loudmouth on stage either.
They also manage to take a great song like "Heroin Girl, and ruin it for me...

The drummer seems more of a loudmouth offstage, but... yeah. i didn't think they were tooo bad, but definitely nothing new.

I liked the overall vibe of their songs, even though it got a bit samey by the end.
The frontman/singer is also one talented guy...

i was more impressed with the bass player and was a bit unsure about the vocals. But the frontboy did seem talented with his instruments, especially electric guitar which i think he outshined the main guitarist with. The whole band turned out to be better than i had expected.

Hitman wrote: Los Alamos were great, as always. Definitely can't be faulted as far as playing goes.
And while I adore the groove based drum and bass, coupled with Ben's melodic and intuitive playing, I feel that the main thing I can find fault with you guys is the samey nature of your songs. Many of them tend to be at the same or similar tempo/rythym, and use similar effects on the guitar. I thnk the lack of vocals actually accentuates this also.
The other thing would be the obvious Cog influence in many of the tunes, which I've pointed out to you before.

Anyway, still performed excellently, and entertaining, despite the small turn out...

:D

Los Alamos = awesome.

...Luis, what does "los alamos" mean in Español? Having trouble finding a translation, though i know the band probably named it after the Nuclear testing ground / labratory in New Mexico, USA.

Thanks for the nice comment BJN.

We did name it after the testing ground...i dont know exactly what it means, hopefully not "will drop pants for food" or something...

I think Luis was really a bit hard on ERD...theyre not a revelation or anything, but theyre good muso's and really work their arse off getting on the road and trying to make something of it. Their set can get a little bit samey at the moment but in a couple of recordings time it could potentially be great. They have potential. Anyway...thats my 2 cents.
