Silverchair - Back on track...

Postby Chantel » Wed Nov 23, 2005 9:49 am

Silverchair return to active duty after a three year break. The band is rehearsing in the New South Wales countryside. They will road test the new material in Australia early next year, with tentative plans to go into the studios in May. The band took an extended break after their sold out "Across The Night Tour" in 2003. They reunited briefly for Waveaid. "Waveaid was an amazing experience and it was really the catalyst that made us all want to start making music together again," says Daniel Johns. "We're totally enjoying playing together at the moment. We're looking forward to eventually doing some gigs to try out the new songs and to then hopefully making a new album."

It's going to take a lot to top their last effort.
I wonder what direction it will take...

No offense intended.

I've always kind of liked them, although a lot of their stuff tended to be cheesy and immature.
The turning point was Neon Ballroom, with Emotion Sickness.
Then Diorama absolutely blew me away.
Intelligent well written pop songs with luscious arrangments and soaring emotive melodies....a delight to these tired sore ears...

Yeah I was always a fan.... I think I kind of grew with the band.

Loved frogstomp when I was an angry young man..... and so on.

Can wait to see what they come up with next.

I liked the first EP, but hated Frogstomp.
Mainly because the album recording was so shitty and tinny.

Yeah.... I was too young to notice that back then I think.

I just thought I was cool.

I hated frogstomp.

I hated the single "Freak' but liked 'Cemetry' so kind of got into the second album.

Loved Neon Ballroom - 'Emotion Sickness' is awesome.

Went back and got Frogstomp because I saw it for $5 somewhere.

I only really heard the singles off Diorama. None of which really grabbed me. Yes they're really well written and pretty, but i found it all just a bit too 'nice'. A bit boring.

They have certainly come a long way though. And more power to them.
