I disagree. In my opinion, 2007 has been a great year for both albums and live performances. More so than last year.

I'm yet to hear the whole album by Serj Tankian, but would like to as theoretically it'd be better than a System of a Down album, given that it lacks the other members who all annoy me.

Album:
Nine Inch Nails - year zero (almost all my favourite artists released albums this year, most of them pretty damn good, but this is way ahead of anything. Note: I haven't heard "in rainbows" yet by Radiohead). What I've heard from the new Saul Williams album is pretty damn good too.

Single:
Still trying to remember which ones I bought... but out of the three I can... I was thinking c0g - "What If?"

International Gig:
So many great ones to choose from this year! 'tis hard... but I will go with either one of the Tori shows (probably the last Sydney show, though all 3 had something special about them) or September NIN either at the Big Top or the Hordern. SC3 were great too of course, as were Peeping Tom, etc.

Local Gig:
Still unsure... maybe Ron's 50th? Bubble Vicious were awesome, I don't know why you think they're "the worst band ever". Penny has an amazing voice. The Fix Chixx were alright too. Still trying to remember who else played... Hmm...
Mz Ann Thropik at Spectrum for that APEC week was a grrreat gig too. As were plenty of others.
