Jamiroquai and Oasis join the growing number of artists following Radiohead’s lead to release their next release for free.
A deal struck by the artists and XFM see fans able to get their paws on downloads of new tracks from the bands for free. With no label ties, it’s rumoured that both acts are likely to be considering the move as a perfect way to gain ground with fans and spur viral growth for the new releases.
Recently Radiohead offered a no frills version of their latest album for download – with fan’s able to name the price they wanted to pay for the CD. While plenty of fans have rushed to download the new album for nix , it hasn’t stopped them from ordering a special box set of the release that includes special artwork and vinyl at $80 a pop.
