Helmet...

Postby Hitman » Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:56 pm

Having since parted ways with Interscope, Helmet have signed a deal with Warcon Enterprises for the release of their new album which will land in stores early this summer. Several songs have been written for the release, which is being co-produced by band frontman Page Hamilton and Wharton Tiers, who was onboard for "Strap It On" and "Meantime". Speaking on the effort, Hamilton said the following:
"Wharton was my only choice to co-produce this project with me. I want to get back to my roots with this release and what's really cool is that we are actually using the same tape machine that we recorded our first two albums with. The whole thing is also going to be done in all analog to give it that classic Helmet sound. We're very excited about it."
In addition to the new deal, the band will also be headlining this years "Warped Tour" as well.

Maybe Highroad can do some shows with them!

hmmm Helmet's last album was very very disappointing...not the same band without Stanier although Tempesta (drummer) is a fucking monster.

Anyway....

will give them a fair hearing though. Helmet with Strap It On, Meantime and Betty where a life changing band for me.

Likewise man.
Meantime in particular is in my top 10 "albums tat changed my life" list.
First I ever heard of Helmet was at the second BDO.
I still remember walking into the Hordern and being absolutely blown away.
