In terms of the "social norm" (which is how I took it from your post), yes.

The amount of care alone that this girl needs will prevent her from, shall we say, doing the day to day things most people do, and take for granted.

BUT

She may be able to do things that most NORMAL people can't.

For example....

The other night on SBS (I think it was) there was a television show that showed an autistic man who couldn't even tie his own shoelaces up. However... he could play over 80 musical instruments perfectly. He was also deaf.

Normality is a ridiculous concept.
Its subjective.
What is normal to one person, may seem abnormal to someone else.

Your so called "social norms" are meaningless empty concepts, thrust upon as by those in positions of power in order to try and manipulate society.

Exactly.
I'm not sure what Craig's point is.

I don't see Craig to be any more "normal" than this girl...
